At VIMULAN, trade in legally and sustainably sourced wood and timber products, is an important business segment of the Company. Paper products, packaging boards, wooden furniture and construction material are some of the major industry imports.

International trade in forest products has increased significantly over the past 50 years, particularly in processed wood products such as timber, pulpwood, board and wood-based panels. According to the United Nation’s Food and Agriculture Organization, woodbased panel trade has risen by 800 percent in the past three decades.

The imports of roundwood and woodchips to Asia is expected to increase substantially by 2030 driven by a demand from a growing population and decline in local supplies. Europe, North America Australia, Chile, and South Africa are projected to be the major suppliers of woodchips driving the inter-regional trade in global wood markets.

Indian imports of paper and paperboard have also witnessed an exponential rise with the highest jump in the imports of uncoated writing & printing paper followed by coated paper, paperboard and tissue paper. VIMULAN is participating in this high potential segment partnering with global suppliers.
